Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
Pikzr ("we", "our", "the app") lets you post side-by-side photo comparisons and short videos, vote on friends' posts, chat, and get an AI opinion on your photos. This policy explains what information Pikzr collects, how it's used, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
• Account info: name, email address and/or phone number, and password (if you sign up with email). If you sign in with Google or Apple, we receive your name, email, and profile photo from that provider. • Profile info: your chosen handle, profile photo, and bio. • Content you create: the photos and videos you post, captions, comments, votes, "vibe" badges, stories, and direct messages you send. • Friend graph: who you're friends with, friend requests you send or receive, and users you block. • Contacts (optional): if you choose to "find friends from contacts," the app reads your device contact list on your device and converts each phone number to a one-way cryptographic hash before it ever leaves your device. We check those hashes against existing Pikzr accounts to suggest people you may know. We never see, store, or transmit your contacts' actual names or phone numbers — only the hashes, and only for numbers already on Pikzr are matches returned. • Device/app data: basic technical data Firebase collects to operate authentication, storage, and crash-free delivery of the app (e.g. install identifiers, IP address at request time).
How we use it
• To create and run your account, show your profile and posts to the right audience, and power core features like voting, comments, direct messages, and friend suggestions. • To generate an AI opinion or caption when you ask for one: the photo(s) or a single frame of your video are sent to Google's Gemini API for that request only, and are not stored by us afterward. • To keep the app safe: reviewing content you report, and enforcing blocks. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your photos or messages to train any AI model.
Who can see your content
Posts and videos marked "Friends" are visible only to your accepted friends. Posts marked "Public" are visible to any Pikzr user. You choose this per post. Direct messages are only visible to the people in that conversation.
Blocking and reporting
If you block someone, they can no longer see your content, message you, or send you friend requests. We do not notify the blocked person. Reports you submit about other users' content are reviewed by us and are not shared with the reported user.
Data retention and deletion
You can delete your account at any time from Settings. This immediately removes your profile, login, and everything you've posted — photos, videos, stories, and comments — along with their stored files. Direct messages you sent to others may remain in their conversation. If you have any trouble or want something removed sooner, contact us at support@pikzr.com.
Third parties we use
• Firebase (Google) — authentication, database, file storage, and backend functions. • Google Sign-In and Sign in with Apple — optional sign-in methods. • Google Gemini API — generates AI photo opinions and captions on request. Each provider processes data only as needed to deliver these features, under their own privacy terms.
Children's privacy
Pikzr is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we'll remove it.
Security
We rely on Firebase's security infrastructure (encryption in transit, access-controlled storage and database rules) to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
Your choices
You can edit or remove your profile info, change a post's visibility or delete it, unfriend or block anyone, and delete your account, all from within the app. Contacts access is optional and can be revoked anytime from your device's app permission settings.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes to this policy, we'll update the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app.
